Never sung in a choir before? No experience in Southeast Asian music? Worried that you can’t dance? (Honestly, we can’t either! 😬)
Regardless of your musical background and experience, we have a place for you in Suara!
Spring 2026 Recruitment!
SEVEN SONGS, SEVEN GAMES
This spring, Suara turns to the sounds of childhood across SE Asia through a program built entirely around children’s games. The program features a Filipino clapping game (Nanay Tatay), the playful, percussive energy of Balinese kecak, the Indonesian tug-of-war song Hela Rotan, and a Burmese nursery rhyme, Mama Wawa, that puts your tongue-twisting skills to the test.
This is music that asks you to be present, curious, and game to try. Sing with us this spring — make new friends, grow your musicianship beyond Western traditions, and perform music in some of LA’s coolest venues. We can’t wait to share these stories and traditions with you—and maybe spark a little mischief along the way.
